Encouraging every kid's creativity through crafting. As children learn to sew, they improve their fine motor skills and learn how to focus and follow directions.

Sew Urban Kids (SUK) Starter Course- Duration -2 days
This is designed for first-time sewers and they will learn what is in a sewing kit, sewing rules and safety, threading and knotting a needle, sewing stitches , basic fabrics and how to sew a button.

After the Sew Urban Kids Starter Course, kids can now proceed to learn the below projects.

A Needle Book
Free with SUK starter course



Your child will put his or her sewing skills to the test by making a very simple needle book to keep needles safely and out of the way.










A Pin Cushion


Your child will learn how to make a simple pin cushion in different shapes on which to safely put their sewing pins.









Soft Comfy Pillow



Young sewers will learn how to make a basic pillow and can even be creative and personalize by adding beads, ribbons, laces, trims and sequins.








Stuffed Toys
 
To do this project, the young sewer must have learned how to make a soft comfy pillow because the same skills will be applied.








Handy Bag

You will learn to sew a very simple tote bag that you can put all your stuff into.











Wallets

Learn to make a very handy wallet in which to keep the change mummy gives you to buy your sweets or just for your important stuff.









Easy Drawstring Bag
Learn how to make a nice draw-string bag to keep little things when you are going out or to use it to store your under-wears or even toys.










Phone/Ipod Pouch

Learn to make an easy pouch to hold and keep your ipod safe. You could also use it to keep your ipod or mobile phones safe.










Cute Coasters

Learn how to make cute coasters for your mum or for yourself when you are having lunch at the dining table to prevent water marks.



          
            




Sunglasses Case       
    Do you have sunglasses but don't have a case to keep it? Then this is one project that will help you create a unique one for yourself.         








Sweet Dream-Mask
 If you need help falling asleep in a room with the lights on, why not have a go at making a fun sleep mask just for you.











Dolls Skirt

Do you have a doll that you want to change her clothes? Then try making a very simple skirt for her and you'll be able to change her as often as you like.










My Very Own Skirt
 
This project is for sewers who have tried their hands on other smaller projects and have learned how to use a mini sewing machine. Skirt Pattern will be provided.










My Very Own Apron

Confident sewers who have learnt the skill of using a mini-sewing machine can try their hands on making an apron for themselves they can also make them unique by adding notions.

This is an interesting project where the young sewer will learn to make fun book covers for their school text book or notebooks. They can personalize them with all sorts of notions.








Pencil Cover



The young sewer will learn how to make a beautiful pencil case in which to keep all their favourite stationery.






Fabric Bow Hair Clip and Hair Ruffle



Hair bows and ruffles are one of girl’s favourite things. In this project, the young sewer will learn how to make them in interesting colours.
