Have
you been considering what your 5 or 13 year old would be up to this summer?
Sew-Urban Kids has put together amazing fun sewing projects that will enable
your child the opportunity to connect with his or her true creative self. The
classes are designed for kids aged between 5 and 13 years who will be engaged
in interesting sewing projects at different levels in a very comfortable and
safe learning environment.
The
5-8 year olds will be learning basic hand-sewing techniques that they can apply
in several fun projects like stuffed animals, sunglasses case, soft throws
pillows etc.
The
9-13 year olds will learn how to sew with a mini-sewing machine for kids.
The
skills they learn will be used in making very lovely stuff such as Aprons,
skirts, soft envelope clutch purse etc. They will also learn the simple hand-embellishing
techniques so they can apply to personalize and beautify their work.
The
classes will run for 6 weeks, 3 days in a week – Monday to Wednesday or Thursday
to Saturday.
Week
1 will be the introductory classes where they will learn all about the sewing
tools, their uses and safety rules sewing. They will learn basic stitches by
hand or machine depending on their age group. They will also be able to identify
several types of fabric that can be used in their projects.
During
week 2-6 they will take on a new project per week and towards the end of each
project, they will be given the opportunity to create their very own designs
and personalise with notions like buttons, beads, sequins, trimmings, etc.
